Our Mission

We believe that a strong foundation in language, social emotional learning and numeracy is key for every child’s academic development and success throughout their school-age years.  Our mission is to eliminate learning gaps by providing opportunities for children to grow, learn and thrive in their early years through play and interactions with other children in a structured and safe environment. Your child will develop social, emotional, literacy, numeracy and language skills in our care that will prepare them for the future.

Through play, dance and songs your child will be introduced to letters, sounds, numbers and shapes.  We will develop your child's vocabulary and linguistic abilities in English and in Spanish through story telling, singing and dancing.  Research shows that bilingualism has lead to higher levels of executive functioning in young children as well as increased working memories and attention spans, abstract thinking skills, multitasking and better conflict resolution skills.

My Story

As a mother of two and a lifelong educator, I know how hard it is to find childcare you can truly trust—where children are not only cared for but genuinely nurtured and prepared for school. After over 15 years in public education, I saw firsthand the importance of early learning. That’s why I created a space where children can grow, explore, and build the strong foundation they need to thrive in school and beyond. I’m proud to serve my community and deeply committed to supporting families for years to come.

Yohaina Martinez is a first generation immigrant and college graduate, whose passion for working with children, life-long learning and social justice brought her to the field of education.  She has been teaching in New York State for over ten years.  Yohaina holds a Master’s degree in Childhood Education as well as an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Bilingual Education.  Yohaina’s effective teaching methods, ability to analyze data and develop action plans, as well as her skillfulness to lead her students to high levels of performance and proficiency have garnered her positions such as Academic Dean and Instructional Coach.  In these roles Mrs. Martinez supported fellow teachers and helped them to develop professionally in the areas of classroom management, curriculum development, lesson planning and effective instruction in various subject areas.  She has been touted a leader who serves as a model for hard work and excellence.  Yohaina’s objective is to move into education policy and reform, where she hopes to make an impact on the lives of an even greater number of children.  In the meantime her mission is to prepare the youngest learners for our rigorous education system by helping them to develop their language, literacy and numeracy skills in their early years through play and social emotional learning!
